Are you Grateful?

Gratitude is the feeling of being thankful and appreciative for something or someone in one's life. I used to think that I was a grateful person. Yes I was grateful in general but I would also keep complaining about the lack of time, lack of opportunities, lack of rest, lack of space and so on. It only made me more resentful and drained my energy and I felt my opinions were validated. But once I started shifting my attention from lack to thankfulness, I started seeing growth in every sphere of my life. Being in Gratitude really helped me cultivate a positive and abundant mindset. It is like a magnet that attracts more abundance into your life!
This was such a transformation for me that it inspired so many paintings : )

Gratitude is a positive emotion that can be reinforced by daily practice and mindfulness . We tend to take so many things for granted just because we have always had them. And it is also very easy to start complaining when things do not go the way we want. Start with being aware of your feelings. When you have sinking feelings of anger, anxiety, worry, make a conscious effort to shift your attention to the countless blessings you already have in your life! It will uplift you.

Maintaining a gratitude journal or taking a few moments every morning and night to reflect on what you are thankful for is a great practice.

  • Every morning when you wake up, be grateful for a home, a warm bed, a good night’s sleep.

  • Express gratitude for every meal you are eating. Be thankful to the farmers growing the food, to mother earth for providing us the nourishment.

  • Be thankful for each and every part of your body.

  • Be thankful for the clean drinking water which not many people in the world have. Some have to walk miles to get water for their homes!

  • Express gratitude for the beauty of nature, the sunrise and sunset, the lovely breeze , the flowers and the chirping birds!

  • Be grateful for the friends and family you have.

  • Be grateful for good health.

So much more to be grateful for everyday my friends!

By the way, even when my teen is driving me crazy , I shift my mindset to gratitude for having this lovely, kind soul as my daughter. And honestly, it starts calming me down. Thanks to gratitude I am able to be a more conscious parent, responding to situations, instead of reacting and losing control : )

And fun fact, in some cultures, Whales symbolize Gratitude. Now you know why whales keep sneaking into my paintings!

When you acknowledge the good that you already have in your life, you attract more abundance into your life!

Grateful to have you here and wishing you loads and loads of Abundance in every sphere of your lives!!
