Time for some introspection!
Ever wondered what drives our thoughts , behaviors and decisions? Why we like or dislike something, why we auto respond to certain things or situations in a certain way? These responses are based on our core values and beliefs. Self awareness is the ability to recognize and understand these beliefs and values which are constantly running in the background.
Recognizing them and being aware of them helps us make informed decisions, helps us manage our emotions and improves our overall well being!
As I started being more aware and present to my feelings, I realized the complexity of human emotions and the myriad layers. As we ask ourselves more questions as to why we like or dislike something, we start peeling layers after layers to understand what beliefs are actually driving those emotions!
Take time to reflect on your emotions.
Practice mindfulness and meditation to be more present.
Journaling can give a lot of insight into our thoughts and repeating patterns.
Understand your core values and beliefs
Ask at least "5 whys" to dig deeper and understand the underlying motivations.
Self awareness is an ongoing journey. It is not about self criticism but it's about gaining a deeper understanding of yourself and unlocking your potential to live a more fulfilling life !
